Labradors are firmly folded, they have a wide, muscular chest, strong limbs, a strong neck and a voluminous head – the appearance of dogs seems to indicate their noble strength. The transition from the forehead to the sea is well defined, the muzzle is not pointed, the scissors bite, the teeth are medium in size, strong and healthy, the nose is wide. The eyes are medium sized, beautiful hazel or brown in color; The expression of the eyes is very clever and friendly. Ears of medium size, drooping, very mobile, they can easily track the mood of the pet. The tail is of medium length, thick at the base and tapering towards the tip.
The coat is short, very thick, hard, with a waterproof undercoat. The color is solid, may be fawn, black or brown, in the last two versions, a small white spot may be present on the chest.

Despite the fact that the breed is recognized as one of the most popular on the world level, the question of its origin is still full of mysteries. There are many versions of the appearance of Labradors, which, in general, converge only in one: the ancestors of amazing dogs previously lived on the island of Newfoundland. Mention of Newfoundland dogs are found in the descriptions of navigators who visited these lands in the 16th century.
According to one of the versions, the first Labradors were just brought to the UK from the island of Newfoundland, where they were crossed with curly-haired retrievers, English Foxhounds and setters. As a result of breeding work, modern labrador retrievers were obtained. The first official breed standard was described in 1887. At the beginning of the 20th century, Labradors of black color and then fawn and chocolate color were recognized by the British club. In 1991, Labrador topped the rating of breeds in the United States.
