Appearance
Sealyham Terrier is a small harmonious dog, the maximum height at the withers of which is 31 cm and its weight is up to 11.5 kg. According to the standard, the height of the terrier at the withers corresponds to the length of the back.
Despite its compact size, the appearance of the Sealyham Terrier embodies strength and grandeur. This is a stately, proportionally built, hardy dog ​​with thick eyebrows and sideburns, which are the hallmark of the breed. The muzzle of the Sealyham Terrier is of a rectangular format, the transition to the back of the nose from the forehead is smooth, hidden by a fluffy bang. The nose is black. The eyes are small and dark. The ears are semi-erect, triangular in shape, the tips of the ears are flush with the cheeks. The tail is set high, held vertically, may remain in its natural state (held straight or slightly bent into the sickle) or stopped. The standard does not allow breaks and rings.

Story
The homeland of the Sealyham Terriers is Great Britain, and more specifically the county of Haverfordwest, the estate of Silichem, after which the breed was named. Brisk pets brought John Edwards, who set himself the goal of creating new talented hunters for small prey. The selection work involved Fox Terriers, Welsh Corgi, West Highland White Terriers, Dandy Dinmont Terriers, White English Terriers.
Having hit the world with excellent hunting and convivial qualities, the Sealyham Terriers quickly gained popularity. For a long time they were considered dogs of the stars, as a huge number of famous people gave their preference to these pets.
The first breed club was founded in 1908, and in 1910 the Sealyham Terriers were officially recognized.
Today, these little dogs, popular all over the world, are first and foremost excellent companions and family pets – and only then hunters.
