Story
Kishu is an ancient indigenous breed formed in the southern part of the Japanese islands. It belongs to the group of native shpitsoobrazny Japanese dogs
Even during the Middle Ages, kisyu were used for hunting – including big game, fishing, and also as shepherds and watchmen. Kissu Inu’s talents are truly endless.
The breed has always been valued for the “double” approach to hunting: unlike many other hunting dogs, the kisu can be kept by the beast before the hunter arrives with both barking and attack. The Japanese are still convinced: one dog of the breed kisyu and a gun is the key to a successful hunt.
According to local legend, the ancestor of the kisu was a wolf cub, which the wounded wolf presented to the hunter as a token of gratitude for saving her life.
Since 1934, the breed is known as the national treasure of Japan. Common in their homeland, in Russia, Kysu Inu are rare.
