East Siberian huskies are intelligent and agile hunting dogs with a balanced psyche and excellent orientation reaction.
External characteristics
East Siberian huskies are the largest dogs of hunting laika. The maximum height of dogs reaches 64 cm, weight – 23 kg.
In dogs, the body is slightly stretched, the withers are slightly elevated above the level of the sacrum, the back is straight and wide, the chest is wide and deep, the abdomen is tucked up, and the loin is muscular. Limbs strong, muscular, parallel, paws compact, round or slightly oval. The neck is muscular, the head of a wedge-shaped form with a smooth transition from the forehead to the muzzle. Teeth strong, healthy, scissor bite. Eyes oval, medium-sized, hazel or dark brown color. The bee is black. Ears are erect, mobile, triangular in shape with a sharp or rounded tip, set at eye level. The tail is covered with wool, curled ring or sickle. The coat is straight, hard and thick with a developed undercoat. Color: monochromatic black, gray, red, black and spotted, brown in various shades, it is permissible to have a speck on the paws in tone with the main color.
East Siberian huskies are often confused with West Siberian. However, there are many differences between them, and the most obvious of them is the color. The ideal color for East Siberian husky is black and tan, while the same color is considered a vice in West Siberian huskies. In addition, East Siberian huskies are larger, they have a rougher body structure than those of West Siberian huskies. The shape of the ears is also different: the tips of the ears of the “Oriental” can be rounded, whereas the “Westerners” have always sharp edges.
As for the character, then, as a rule, the “Easterners” are more obedient and docile than the West Siberian huskies, who naturally strive for absolute leadership.
Character

They are active, agile, brave and hardy, and, possessing such talents, they can equally well hunt different animals: from sable to bear. East Siberian huskies easily adapt to various, including very harsh conditions and, for example, easily work in the Siberian taiga.
They also differ in loyalty and devotion to their master. Breed is not characteristic of the manifestation of aggression towards a person, likes strangers are kindly or neutral. However, a husky can notify the owner of the approach of strangers by loud barking – and is sometimes used as a watchman.
Health
East Siberian huskies are naturally very strong and enduring, they have good health, allowing them to easily adapt to different conditions.
Care
East Siberian huskies are unpretentious and do not need specific care when they are kept in an aviary. However, in the conditions of apartment maintenance, the owner will often have to comb out his pet, as the huskies fade intensively.
In addition, the dog will need to provide daily long walks and exercise. It should be understood that East Siberian huskies are mobile dogs for active people, this pet will not get along with a person who prefers a quiet home rest to the movement.
Story
This is an ancient, natural breed, formed on the territory of Siberia. It is believed that the hunting and Evenk, Yakut and Baikal dogs were ancestors of East Siberian Laika.
The breed standard was adopted in 1949 and updated in the 1981th.
Today, East Siberian huskies are the largest hunting huskies. They are flawless hunters and riders.
