American Bulldog

Appearance
General description for two varieties:
American Bulldogs are stately dogs with a muscular, strong body, strong, square head, wide muzzle with a strong lower jaw, strong, bony limbs. The shoulders and back are muscular and wide, proportional, narrow hips are considered a disadvantage. The rib cage is wide and deep.
The lips of the bulldogs are thick, tight, the teeth are white, strong, bite: reverse scissors (standard) or undershot from 6 to 13 mm (classic). When closed mouth teeth are not visible. There are no strict requirements for ears and eyes: the ears, as a rule, are in the form of an envelope or a rose, the eyes are medium in size and can be of any color. Nose black, gray, brown or red; pink or skin color is considered a disadvantage. The coat is short, the length does not exceed 1.5 cm. Color: white or other basic colors with the presence of white spots.
The height of the American Bulldog at the withers is up to 68.5 cm, its weight is up to 54.5 or up to 60 kg (in the classical type). Classic bulldogs are more powerful, standard bulldogs have a lighter constitution and slightly elongated muzzle, they are more suitable for hunting, while classic bulldogs are ideal guards.
Character
The American Bulldog is a born security guard, as well as a reliable and loyal friend. It has a unique, versatile character, allowing it to fit into any family, provided that it does not have a second dog that can compete with the bulldog. And the American bulldog does not tolerate competitors: it is the absolute leader and always strives for superiority over other dogs. He does not need rivals, and if there are such, a showdown is inevitable.
The desire for excellence determines such traits as stubbornness and boundless faith in the rightness, therefore the bulldog needs a strong, fair and self-confident owner. The sooner you start raising an ambulance, the easier it will be to train. Any attempt to bite the host should be strictly stopped. The same goes for growl and grin. From a puppy age, the dog must be taught to walk on a leash, otherwise the ambulum will then pull heavily and cause inconvenience.
The American Bulldog is very important to educate in a timely and correct manner, maximally limiting his desire for domination, and then (and there are many examples) an ambul can even make friends with another four-legged pet.
In other matters not related to rivalry, the ambulus is a sociable, good-natured and even very cheerful dog. American bulldogs love to play with the owner or children, they are neat, attentive, very patient and calm.
Special attention should be paid to the mind and self-control of this dog. Ambul never barks in vain, calculates his steps in advance, does not show aggression without a reason, and if necessary, carefully thinks over the tactics of attack and defense – step by step. In addition, the American Bulldog always recognizes false fictitiousness, and this quality makes him an unsurpassed guard.
Health
American bulldogs have excellent health by nature, in addition, these are the very dogs that need little care for.
The pledge of health of American bulldogs is proper nutrition and exercise. Bulldogs need long walks, and the most important indicator will be how many kilometers you will pass.
It is strictly not recommended to bathe the ambuli more often 2 times a year. As necessary, wipe the eyes, nose and ears of dogs. It is enough to comb the ambulum once a week and trim the claws once every two months.
Story
The American Bulldog has a long and interesting history. It is believed that these dogs were able to retain in themselves all the features of their primordial ancestor – the Old English Bulldog, and ambuli look today like they looked in the 18th century.
In the “New World” bulldogs became popular in the 18th century. These dogs were brought there along with immigrants. New lands were actively settled by the British, farms were built, pastures appeared. Of course, the people at that time simply needed a reliable, strong guard of their property and territories, who would also act in combination as a hunter and shepherd. These requirements are fully consistent with the Bulldogs. Thanks to endurance, courage, fighting and service qualities, these dogs gained immense popularity and very soon became completely indispensable. Also at that time, bulldogs were often bred with bulls. As a result of this experience, the dogs became stronger and more self-confident, they learned to control themselves in order to carefully work out the tactics of the battle. These qualities are incredibly valued in the breed to this day.
For the first time at the exhibition American Bulldogs were presented at the end of the 20th century. This breed won the love and respect of both breeders and spectators at lightning speed. The incredible combination of impressive appearance, bulldog power with excellent service qualities and self-control has become a hallmark.
